Magicka Elemental Roulette

broken image

The key gameplay concept in Magicka is the ability to combine various elements to produce a variety of magic-based solutions applicable to destroying enemies and Monsters (and sometimes friends and NPCs too). These elements have certain rules that restrict which ones can be used with each other, as well as rules governing the end result of any particular combination of elements. There are eight primary elements that can be summoned at any time using the proper key. Three additional elements, beyond the primary eight, can also be formed by combining Water with either Cold, Fire or Arcane. Combining Water with Cold results in an Ice element, Water with Fire results in a Steam element, and Water with Arcane results in a poison element.

For as long as war has raged, heroes from every race have aimed to master the art of battle. Warriors combine strength, leadership, and a vast knowledge of arms and armor to wreak havoc in glorious combat. I think that the concept of these bags is exceptional, and overall I am happy with our purchase. However I do find them to be too long (deep) in that the bottom of the bag being of a netting material which extends the bag bunches up in the trolley and makes the placing of the bags into the boot of a car quite difficult as the bags hang very long and in our car from the top of the bag to the.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Certain combinations can be used with devastating effects against enemies (or allies, if you prefer). Conjuring a set of elements in a set order may enable the player to cast a Magick. When using a gamepad instead of keyboard, the right thumbstick is used to charge elements. For more detail on each element see Elements/Details.

Poison[edit | edit source]

In the original game, poison is a pseudo-element and a special case in that while wizards cannot normally use poison as an element; this element is actually not 'unused' and several enemies have poison attacks. Poison attacks poison anyone hit (resulting in the poisoned status effect), slowing them and dealing small damage over time. The Bugs from the Bug Staff, poison spray from the Scythe of Malevolence, attacks from the Rogue's Crossbow, and attacks with the Cursed Blade and Morgul Blade all do poison damage (and can be used to make Poison Elementals with the Summon Elemental Magick). Elementally speaking, poison is weak to life as demonstrated by Poison Elementals.

The sequel Magicka 2 originally did not feature any sub-elements in that the icons did not exist (though it can still be conjured by casting the respective elements, taking up two slots). An update to the game brought these two element icons into the game as well as poison.

Exceptions/workarounds[edit | edit source]

It's impossible to simultaneously cast Steam and Ice because adding a Fire element will change Ice to Water before it will change Water to Steam, and adding a Cold element will change Steam to Water before it will change Water to Ice. In other words, if you have [Ice + Water ], adding a Fire element will change the Ice to Water, not the Water to Steam. Conversely, if you have [Steam + Water ], adding a Cold element will change the Steam to Water, not the Water to Ice.(The only possible way to make Steam and Ice coexist is by double enchanting, which means enchant one element to a weapon enchanted with another one.)

However, it is possible to add lightning to water , if you cast ++ or ++. This is because the fire turns the ice into water and the lightning is still there.

Element Interaction[edit | edit source]

The elements in Magicka can be divided into different types based on how they influence the result of a spell. Each element type has a priority that determines the final type of spell that will be cast. For example, if the player casts an arcane element and a water element, the result will have the explosive beam properties of the Arcane element and the soaking effect of water. The result will not be a spray of water imbued with the arcane element, because the Arcane property has precedence over water. Note that while both Earth and Ice are projectiles (Earth firing a single projectile and Ice firing a barrage of ice shards), Earth has precedence over Ice; combining the two will result in the single projectile.

Magicka Elemental Roulette 2

Mizure's one of these. These are people who are more adept with an element than most other humans. Here are the hair and eye colours for each elemental-type:
Ice--Grey
Fire--Red
Air--Blue
Water--Aquamarine
Bio--Purple
Holy--White-Blonde
Time--White
These don't apply to everyone--You can't see someone with Red hair or eyes and assume they are a fire elemental, and you can't say a fire-elemental isn't a fire-elemental if they don't have red eyes and hair.

There are eleven of these. Each one is associated with a different animal and attribute.
Ice: Wolf, coldness
Air: Eagle, aloofness
Electricity: Cat, irritableness
Earth: Deer, serenity
Dark: Dark Dragon, strength
Gravity: Peregrine Falcon, bravery
Each one has a different set of spells, such as Fire-Fira-Firaga-Flare for Fire, and Blizzard-Blizzara-Blizzaga-Freeze. The Gravity and Time spells work a little differrently, though.

A race of magically attuned people who are also known for their unnatural speed and agility. They have been badly treated by society after around a thousand year ago, the Guado's leader, Maester (and Lord) Seymour Guado bombed the Al Bhed and Ronso. Guado have slanted eyes, mad hair, pointy fingers and toes, long limbs, veins on their faces, pointed teeth and are tall. They are [mostly] magically gifted, and despite their normally peacful ways, they are feared in war for their magical abilities, and their loyalties to their leaders and each other.
Some well known Guado are Mika Guado (An insane general of Seymour's), who was killed one thousand years ago (apparently); Seymour Guado, who was determined to kill everyone and had a messiah complex; Arzagan Guado, who was was made in a lab by lots of different cells and is mad; and Chiquin 'Cirreth' Guado, who is a charismatic young man and the lead singer of a famous band.

Humes--

Roulette
People who make a large population of the world up. Humes are jacks-of-all trades, and can try their hand at many different trades, but will never be able to master dragooning as well as a Cremire, magic as well as a Guado or archery as well as a Veira. Famous Humes are Mizure Aulong, who was valiant and fought off evil; Cloud Strife, who defeated the evil Sephiroth twice; Ashe, who fought for her kingdom and won it back; and Tidus, who fought to save the land of Spira with Lady Summoner Yuna.

Cosmo Beasts are long-lived, wise dog-lion-hyena-like animals. Don't mistake them for stupid beasts, though! Labayu are intelligent and sentinent even if they do walk on all fours. Labayu are strong, magical and fast, but lack opposable thumbs, so they have to use their teeth and claws as weapons, but some Labayu may wear hairdresses, blades strapped to their paws or use their flaming tails as weapons. Noteable Labayu are Nanaki (AKA Red XIII), who saved the Labayu race from extinction and is often talked about in legends; Rasuni, who bravely fought off enemies when most of his clan were ill; and Taigra, an old warrior who has defended his clan and refuses to give up and die.

Drives--

Drives are only attainable by determined people who have trained to fight. There are different types of Drive, such as Mizure's BladedDrive, Elsuia's MagickaDrive, Lyta's FlurryDrive, Taigra's PrimalDrive and Cat's SharpshooterDrive. Drives can be obtained when a person is determined to win a battle and/or save their friends. There is only a short amount of time to complete Drives, but as the fighter becomes better, there are better Drive options to choose from, and a longer time to cause damage to enemies.

There is no real name for these people, but Arzagan calls them 'Her little friends'. Cirreth has been experimented on, and he has been sucessful, and acts like Arzagan is some kind of Goddess. They have slit cat-like pupils, and it's hard to determine which race they are after a while (Guado lose their veins, Humes gain pointy ears, Elvaan get pointed teeth e.t.c.).
They are so fast that they go almost invisible when they move, and are so strong that they can knock people over with a single punch. At first, they are prototypes, but they get incredibly hard to beat, and require co-ordinated teamwork to defeat.
